Rajasthan Royals produced a commanding all-round performance to defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 47 runs in a high-scoring IPL 2026 Eliminator at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, sealing their place in Qualifier 2 against Gujarat Titans.

Rajasthan Royals posted a mammoth 243/8, built on a jaw-dropping 97 off 29 balls from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who once again lit up the tournament with a record-breaking knock.

The 15-year-old shattered multiple records during his innings, including the fastest fifty in an IPL playoff-level game and breaking Chris Gayle’s long-standing record (59) for most sixes in a T20 season with a staggering 61 sixes, underlining a historic campaign. His explosive powerplay assault completely dismantled SRH’s bowling plans and set the tone for a colossal total.

Dhruv Jurel provided the perfect support act with a blistering 50 off 21 balls, while late contributions from Riyan Parag and Ravindra Jadeja ensured RR crossed the 240-mark.

For SRH, Praful Hinge (3/54) was the pick of the bowlers in an otherwise expensive outing for the attack, with Pat Cummins also taken apart in a brutal display of hitting.

Chasing 244, Sunrisers Hyderabad came out swinging and raced past 50 in just three overs, but Jofra Archer quickly turned the game on its head with a devastating spell.

Archer removed Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head and Ishan Kishan in a fiery powerplay burst, triggering a collapse that SRH never recovered from.

Despite a fighting cameo from Nitish Kumar Reddy (38 off 20) and Ishan Kishan’s explosive 33 off 11, SRH kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Ravindra Jadeja (2/21) applied the squeeze in the middle overs, while Nandre Burger and Sushant Mishra chipped in with key breakthroughs to shut the chase down.

SRH were eventually bowled out for 196 in 19.2 overs, falling well short of the target.
